The event took place on Nov. 7th, 2013, at the Rubaiyat Restaurant of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, in the presence of proven members of the legal profession. The medal of honour in this most contested of all seven award categories, Lawyer of the Year, was conferred upon Mr. Penkov by the Secretary General of the Sofia Bar Association, Attorney Vladimir Donchev.
Mr. Penkov and his firm, Penkov Markov & Partners, also received a nomination in the Case of the Year category, for the successful completion of their litigation against the National Energy Company.
In his acceptance speech, Attorney Penkov referred to the corporate philosophy and set of values of Penkov Markov & Partners as their key competitive edge over the other big law firms in Bulgaria, while expressing his gratitude and appreciation for the partners and colleagues of the firm, part of whom were present at the ceremony.
