On March 26th, in Sofia Hotel Balkan, under the initiative of the German–Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce a business breakfast was held between the President of Bulgaria, Mr. Rosen Plevneliev and the Managing Boards of the two chambers. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassadors of Germany and France – H.E. Mr. Matthias Höpfner and H.E. Mr. Xavier Lapeyre de Cabanes respectively, as well as by a number of special guests, among which was the Managing Partner of PM&P – Mr. Vladimir Penkov.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss relevant topics and problems, which local businesses encounter, and how to best overcome those.
Issues of particular importance were among others the observation and compliance with the law, the need for trust between the business community and institutions, the political stability of the country, the problems in the energy sector and Bulgaria’s energy dependence, the introduced draft bill which is prejudiced against major retailers, etc.
